Southern Peanut Company, Inc. of Dublin, North Carolina, began its peanut shelling mill operations in 1936 and has been family-owned and run by the Brisson family ever since. It produces top-quality in-the-shell peanuts, sells seed to farmers, and buys their harvests, dries and grades peanuts. Before grading, special peanut dryers are used to reduce the peanuts' moisture content to between 7% and 9%, assuring quality.
