Piston Tanker Concept
- The advent of the piston transport tanker and piston storage tank
has made the bulk handling of peanut butter and other food ingredients
both cost effective and sanitary.
- The transport tanker is unique from other pressure vessels in that
the product end of the tank and the piston face are rolled at the same
time. This is done to insure a perfect fit between the end of the tank
and the face of the piston.
- This engineered mechanical method leaves no space between the two
surfaces for product to remain.
- This piston is installed in the tank so it can be pushed back by the
peanut butter as it is loaded, and pushed forward by nitrogen @ 5 PSI
to force the peanut butter to the pump for off loading.
- All pumps, valves, and hoses can be easily disassembled for sanitizing
and cleaning. A plug is pressure forced through the flexible lines to
remove all product.
Research and Development
- Peanut Processors, Inc. has made a significant financial and engineering
investment in the development of the tanker concept of transporting
bulk peanut butter.
- Extensive product testing has been conducted to ensure product quality.
- Test product was subjected to being held in containers pressurized
with nitrogen for a period of 30 days. This test was conducted to simulate
product being held in a tanker vessel.
- Containers of stabilized and non-stabilized product were sent to our
Sherman, Texas plant to simulate product being transported long distances.
- In house testing and certified testing was conducted by Microbac Laboratory
to determine any changes in microbiological values of product quality.
Benefits
- Eliminates costs associated with packaging and containers such as:
· Drums
· Cubes
· Totes
- Eliminates warehouse space dedicated to storing and staging of containers
- Significantly reduces product waste from sticking to the sides of
containers.
- Streamlines the production process.
- Reduces labor costs associated with material handling.
- Increases productivity by eliminating several steps involved in production.
- Increases sanitation, peanut butter is never in an open condition.
Product is pumped through stainless steel lines directly into a tanker.
Virtually eliminating the possibility of contamination.
